Looking generally southwest from Cemetery Ridge. That single tree on the ridge marks The Angle, where the main part of the Confederate attack converged after advancing across the fields on the right. Those trees and farm buildings in the center of the photo mark the Codori Farm and, running just behind the farm, Emmitsburg Road. The Codori Farm was about in the center of Pickett’s division as it swept across Emmitsburg Road on its advance toward this ridge. Keep in mind that Pickett’s was only one of three Confederate divisions making the assault. The other two advanced on this side of the Codori Farm.
